Homeless and Poverty
Poverty remains one of the most pressing challenges in Sri Lanka, leading to homelessness, hunger, and a lack of access to basic services. Our Homeless and Poverty initiative addresses these issues through a combination of direct aid, community development, and empowerment programs
Emergency Shelters
We operate emergency shelters that provide immediate relief for homeless individuals and families. These shelters offer safe, temporary accommodation, along with access to food, medical care, and counseling services. Our aim is to provide a stepping stone for those in crisis, helping them stabilize their lives and transition to more permanent housing solutions.
Food Security Programs
Hunger is a daily reality for many living in poverty. Our food security programs include food banks, community kitchens, and nutrition education, all designed to ensure that vulnerable populations have access to healthy, nourishing meals. We also partner with local farmers and food producers to source fresh, locally grown food, supporting both the community and the environment.
Economic Empowerment
To break the cycle of poverty, we offer economic empowerment programs that provide skills training, job placement assistance, and microloans to individuals seeking to start their own businesses. By equipping people with the tools they need to become self-sufficient, we help them build a more secure future for themselves and their families.
Community Development
Our community development initiatives focus on improving living conditions in impoverished areas. This includes building and repairing homes, improving access to clean water and sanitation, and creating safe public spaces for recreation and socialization. We work closely with local communities to identify their needs and develop solutions that are sustainable and impactful.
